Re: Phlox

Joy:

Heat and humidity may be the culprits causing the demise of your phlox, in
which case containers might not be the answer. Look for varieties that are
mildew and/or resistant. I have a plant that has done quite well for me
(Mt. Fuji, maybe...), I've been delighted with how well it continues to
bloom through the summer. I do have it planted at the top of a slope, so it
has great drainage, and it's in the shade except for late morning. The
soil's not so great (clay) but that doesn't seem to bother it.
