Well, Claire, to each his/her own:-) But give it a glance next time
you run across a copy; think you will be surprised at how far it's
come in the last few years. The editorial staff is small, but they
work hard to improve the mag. all the time...and, yes they do copy
edit:-)
Carol Otteson is now on the ed. staff and writes at least one and
often more articles per issue, I see.
I dunno about having to live close to the organization's headquarters
to be a real member. I've totally enjoyed my membership in RHS and
live a loooong way from London...think, really, membership is a state
of mind and related to what you perceive you get out of the
organization...
