 Lorna, I have been trying to get rid of this as it has become invasive in my 
garden.  I had them planted in a well drained soil, mulched , with afternoon 
shade.  They traveled underground everywhere. I have either lyonii or obliqua.
    Ceres, Iowa zone 4/5
