I had Limerock Ruby last year buying some plants locally for a few dollars.
They did very well in zone 4, bloomed for six weeks or more. Bloom time is
about the same as Moonbeam and the plant is about the same size. The foliage
is fine also quite like Moonbeam.
They did not get the best siting by me as it is busy in the spring but in
some unamended soil in a mostly sunny spot along some shrubs it did very
well. For me it is one of those plants that sit there and look OK until you
get near the blooming season when it explodes in growth and send up the
flower buds all at once. I think I put three or four plants together.
Moonbeam spreads into a good sized patch. Ruby, having one season here, I
don't know. One plant would have been a bit spare.
I am hoping it is as hardy as Moonbeam as I plan to move it be a better
location this spring. The color is one that disappears as you move into the
distance. From thirty feet, you would not notice it though close up it is
rather nice. I have wondered myself about a companion, probably something
white, maybe a Dianthus. Maybe a dwarf Nicotiana. Or maybe amongst some
light colored rocks.
