Because you daffodil guys talked me into it, I bought 50 'Hawera' last fall.
I though 50 of something would look good for a garden that has lots and lots
of big daffodils.
Walking around in September with all those 'Hawera' and a trowel was a bit
exasperating. That would be trying to find really good places for this small
and elegant plant. Now since I ID'd it online, I truly hope 'Hawera' is the
plant I have and wanted a lot more of. I was doing 'Tete-A-Tete' and this is
not long lasting. 'Hawera' was many weeks in bloom in the garden.
Also to report is that this daffodil forces indoors very easily. Near the
end of spot searching, I put the last fifteen into two tall-tom pots and they
are now budded under glass. I love daffodils on the table, I can't wait.
They are underplanted with ivy, done for the kitchen.
Some of you will have them in the garden now but we are on the shelf for
months more so pots it is.
