RE: heat zones, delphinium, etc.


Anyone who would like "test slugs" to breed for weed eating can let me know-
I will happily volunteer mine for experimentation!  I haven't tried the
sharp sand idea- thanks!

That's a good one Theresa. Do I breed slug resistant delphiniums or
perhaps try to breed slugs that eat only dodder or cleavers or some
other nasty weed? :-) The best resistance measures I can think of
that work for most plants is to spread some sharp material such as
sharp sand, crushed egg shells etc. around them (regularly) - but you
are right, constant trials by survival might well lead to less mollusc
palatable delphiniums.
