Re: Schmid book on shade

I am enjoying the discussion of the book-gives me a perspective on what
people are looking for when trying to come up with a description of a plant
or seed item.

On a other topic, I think that my gardening this year will be done before
the snow melts, I do not have a fancy set up for growing seeds-and grow all
my plants out side without a green house. But every year start some odds and
ends in the house and this year it looks like many are going to bloom inside
instead of out side.

I have in flower now Penstemon hartwegii mix, some nice large red-pink
flowers.
Flower buds on Malva sylvestris ssp. mauritiana 'Bibor Felho', Agastache
aurantiaca 'Apricot Sprite', Agastache mexicanum bCarlile Carmineb,
Eryngium
alpinum 'Blue Star'. The Corydalis sempervirens is done blooming and setting
seeds, but problems have developed- I also sowed some old bird of paradise
seeds in that pot and they have germinated, they were old seeds and i did
not expect to much to happen-but I guess in five years I will have some
blooming plants. The "Kenilworth Ivy" is still blooming and has taken on the
will to run out of its pot and has long "tendrils." Hmmm.... I wonder if I
started some of this stuff to soon??

PS

Speaking of bad planing the Agastache aurantiaca 'Apricot Sprite' gave me
trouble-when I sowed the seeds I was careful to spreadout the 15 seeds ......
Low and behold 12 plants came up from the same 1 square inch. One of these
years I am going to learn how to do this right.
