No, it will not. Borers got mine. I could smell the sawdust fermenting as I walked by. Nancy

Things sound pretty rough in other locations. We did have one nasty windy storm a month ago. Glad I had secured the two trees I planted last fall. Other than that, just the one big snowfall in December, not much else.
With this good weather I decided to take the plunge and stool the 30 yr old lilac that was taller than the house gutters. I’d been meaning to try this for years but the timing was never right. Hope I didn’t kill it!

Plant and stick wire in ground. Rebar at angles on both sides or several large rocks. You may need them for yourself just to get outside. My Chamaecyparis Devine Sport got out of hole and walked off. A memorial plant too. Not good.

Last night it was quite windy and this morning surveying the damage my new standard rose had become detached from the roots.

Nancy, you’re well ahead of us – sounds beautiful!
Still, I know better than to declare winter over. March always holds surprises.

It is not winter here in Tennessee. Spring Beauties, bloodroot, and the best daffodils I have ever seen. Large blooms, smooth surface, substance...beautiful. Now the cold will come back but I will enjoy the best hellebores and daffodils I ever remember seeing. Nancy

And the days are getting longer (I am an optimist)...spring is around the corner! If only the snow would go away!

Here the air traffic are on strike on the 23rd of Christmas. People will worry about getting home or on booked holidays getting away.
Rotters!!!
Merry Christmas and a very happy new gardening year to everyone!
