Right you are, but my L. microcephala was no more than 12" tall this past
year. This was the first year it was planted, but I don't expect it to
reach more than 18" this year. That is quite a bit shorter than L. spicata!

yes I expect my plants to top out some were around 12-20" tall. we will see
they are secound year plants. so this year they should be at their full hight.

For many years I had a LIATRIS spicata 'KOBOLD' seedling that grew only 9-10
inches tall and still had the nice think flowering stems with the top five
inches flowering. It only flowered for two weeks but was just a dandy little
plant.

But allas the the renters came home one night - after a rain storm and ran it
over- had a four inch deep tire track were my poor blazing star should of
been. Boy I think I have lost more plants in so mant diffrent ways that they
I should stop calling my self a "grower" and find a better name!!
