bergenia


	Steve asked about putting bergenia in full sun.  I had one in
full sun that was starting to sunburn on the leaves, so I moved it into
partial shade.  Of course, it all depends on where you are.  In the
Midwest where the summers can be very hot and humid, shade is helpful
for many plants that would enjoy full sun in the Pacific Northwest, for
example. 
	The geraniums will probably be okay in full sun (except for
phaeum, maculatum, and sylvaticum, which prefer partial shade, being
woodlanders) and may even bloom better and have less leggy foliage.
	But you may need to water a little more in times of heat and
drought because geraniums like well-drained soil, as do lavenders, and
roses need lots of water...
