seeds

Paul:

Just wanted to say that the seeds I ordered arrived yesterday. I'm so
excited! Thanks for sending the plant markers and adenophora seeds; it
looks like they'll fit right into my scheme. I have the baptisia seeds
soaking even as I write!

Question: I know a lot of people start seeds on paper towels rather
than in potting soil. I haven't done that, but wondered if it might be
a good way to stratify the seeds that need cold treatment. Maybe put
them on damp paper towels while they're refrigerated, then lift them off
the towels and put them in soil to germinate. Any opinion?

I'll let you know how I do. I had promised myself I'd only try a couple
of perennials from seed this year, oops!
