Hi...my hellebores have just started blooming in the last week. I have two
clumps that were moved last spring. One is larger than the other, although
they were each sets of three plants originally. The blooms are mostly pink.
They are evergreen here in my zone, either 7b or 8. I went to the Virtual
Garden site and put in my zip code and they gave me 8 as my zone and I
thought I was in 7, but am right on the border. We have had such a mild
winter that several plants have never died back completely. My artemesia
'Powis Castle' still looks good, although it droops whenever it gets very
cold, but seems to bounce right back when it warms up again. My camellia is
in full bloom...I don't know the actual variety it is, but the blooms are a
dark rose. Daffodils are up, but no buds as yet...thank goodness. I would
hate to lose them in their very first year. We are supposed to get another
night or two of 20 degree weather this weekend.
