Hi to all gardeners
I don't believe I can wait much longer for spring, I need to get out
and get my hands dirty. I'm filling my time with trips to the local
nursery , catalog looking, and buying.......
I have made the mistake of going to e-bay on the net and buying. I have
bought 2 gold brugmansia plants, 3 red amaryllis bulbs, 3 stargazer lily
bulbs, and 8 freesias bulbs. and have seen several other items, I not
sure I can control myself from bidding on. One is a shell ginger,
another is a red dogwood, another is a japanese red maple.
I knew I should have never gone back to e-bay. I have not had any
experience with plants and bulbs purchased from e-bay, I bid on some
black hollyhock seed, didn't have much luck with them, but you all
know about my luck with hollyhock. I planted 6 of the seed and only two
lived, but not sure they will survive. I have decided to take the
remaining seed to the nursery and let the lady there plant them for
me. She says to bring them over, and she will plant them for me. (I
don't have a greenhouse)
I have a Sally Holmes Rose on order for the spring, and also some
begonia bulbs. I'm gonna have to throw my catalogs in the garbage, I
have no control.
oh, and the lady at the nursery is going to market this week-end and I
have asked her to be on the look out for a Rhododendron for me. I want
to try my hand at this plant. just buying one of these.
(apple-blossom pink, R. catawbiense albus)
oh, and by the way, the adlumia fungosa vine that everone is talking
about, can someone send a site with a picture. I have found
information, but have been unable to locate a picture of it. also if
you know where the seed can be purchased or the plant, that information
would be nice.
hey I need feed back on buying off e-bay, before I get in to deep .
don't have a clue as to what I'll do with all this stuff when it
starts coming in. HELP !!!!!!!
have a happy day
