Well maybe.
What is a perennial in Spain, need not be a perennial in Eastern Ontario,
Canada.;-)
I wouldn't make the assumption that NARGS *only* lists perennials.
This is like the problem we all have with Himalayan plants. Is it from the
west or east Himalayan side - one is tropical, one is cold and dry. One
will live most of the time in my garden - the other is a fantasy. Some
Spanish plants live - some say "Are you kidding - this garden's in
Canada!!" :-)
Re the Antirrhinums I've tried to grow all these mentioned. They all died.
Does that mean they aren't hardy?
Nope. It simply means I haven't figured out how to grow them yet. :-)
Maybe I'll have to move my garden several hundred miles South to do so but
hey - a gardener has to do what a gardener has to do. Maybe I have to
change the soil they were in.
If you want to try them - go for it. And, let us know when you succeed (and
how you succeed).:-)
Just don't look for hard and fast rules when it comes to specialist plants.
