worried about its toxicity; I have no pets and my eight year old daughter

Any info you can give me would be most appreciated.

Zauschneria are a native to the western US. I have tried to grow them in
Cincinnati having gotten several varieties from Siskyou Nursery in Oregon.
They cannot tolerate wet or humid conditions and are not hardy in Zone 6
winters. I think the culture is similar to many of the western pestomens; dry
summers and and a well drained soil with a winter protection of snow.
They bloom rather late at least from my experience. I did not have them
bloom until late Sept.
