This is one of my pet peeves. We pay extra to buy "designer" plants,
only to find out that they are seed-propagated knock-offs. Often you
can't tell the difference -- although it's still false advertising --
but then there are the times when the plant is not true-to-name.
There was the time I bought Penstemon 'Husker Red' from White Flower
Farm, only to discover that it would have been more aptly named 'Husker
GREEN'. I called WFF and they said that they do not raise all the plants
that they sell, and that some of their suppliers propagate by
seed....Yes, they would replace it, but ONLY if I could provide a
receipt. Well, I bought those plants the previous year, in person, in
cash, so of course the receipt was long gone, and who would've expected
to have a problem with WFF?
