Karen,
Check out Robin Parer's Geraniaceae - she is an authority on hardy
geraniums and has quite an extensive list - small nursery with a good
reputation on the Geranium List. No pix, but good, concise info. in
the descriptions.
http://www.geraniaceae.com/
She has the list divided up by growing condition...like shade,
scramblers, rock garden, etc.
As for books, the one I have is Peter F. Yeo's 'Hardy Geraniums',
pub. by Timber Press back in 1985. 'The Gardener's Guide to growing
hardy Geraniums' by Trevor Bath and Joy Jones, published in 1994 is
said to be good - less botanically detailed than Yeo's book, but more
up to date as far as pix and newer cultivars is concerned and
probably a better choice if you're wanting to just get to know them
and not delve into the botany. Yeo's book is pretty dry reading, but
a good reference.
I saved a post in 1999 that said a joint effort by Brawner, Michael
Vassar & Robin Parer on the entire geranium family is expected to be
released in the next year or so...may have happened and I missed it.
You might want to check out the Timber Press site and see what they
have listed....
