I love geraniums and have grown a number of them, including some from seed.
Although I haven't tried this particular method myself, I've heard of
putting a cut-off foot portion from panty hose loose over the geranium
"beak" so when the seed pops out it is caught in the hose. In the
meanwhile, the hose is transparent so the sun comes through and it's soft so
it can be tied around the stem without damage.
