No, Deb, it's not a rumor.  As with most of the failed "dot coms," the
demise of Garden.com left many people high and dry.  Sorry, but if you
need specifics you'll have to contact former Garden.com vendors and
supplier "partners" themselves and ask them if they feel like sharing the
details of their business.

With advertising it's usually just a matter of payment for services
rendered.  On the other hand, with garden products, especially live
plants, the process is usually a bit more involved.
