Hello,
I read in the most recent American Nurserymen magazine of a new rust which
might have devastating consequences for daylilies. Seems to have come from
eastern Asia and damages the leaves of daylilies. It was first noticed and
identified in Florida nurseries last month by the USDA. One worry is that it
might require a host plant such as hostas to complete it cycle. Also patrinia
has been suspected as a host plant as well. The pathogen is called puccinia.
The pathogen causes raised yellow-orange to rust brown pustules on the
underside of the leaf. It has a short incubation period of two or three days.

I am wondering if anyone else might know of this potentially devastating
organism.
