Hi Bill,
I have heard Mr. Avent two times. Once on hosta and once on alpine
gardening. He spoke at Twombley in Connecticut a few years back in a large
shed or barn like space. The beams were full of some kind of birds and the
talk was dangerous for all seated in the audience. Tony Avent was oblivious
to the exits of several listeners whilst they found the restrooms to clean up.
My husband would not stay but I did and found him an entertainer as well as a
horticulturist. Maybe he did know or maybe not. One man's response still
makes me burst out in laughter. ( not repeatable ) Lunch was part of the
program and the talk was mostly about birds.
