RE: Clematis Polish Spirit

Hi Everyone,
I'm very glad to read such glowing reports about C. Polish Spirit
because I just ordered some and had a terrible time choosing between it, The
President and Warsaw Nike. I finally settle on Polish Spirit after doing a
photo search on Google Image. I'm sure I won't be sorry! Another very long
blooming vitacella is Venosa Violacea which I planted last spring. I can't
wait to see it this year as I'm sure it will make it to the top of the 10
ft. Ribes sanguineum it is planted by. That shrub is so gorgeous for about
2 months starting in late February and then becomes a large birdy hotel.
But the Clematis will give it new color in mid-late summer.
We are enjoying a very mild winter with a few days up to 60 F. I cut a
beautiful David Austin 'Othello' last week and enjoyed it for a few days in
the house. I can't ever recall cutting undamaged roses in January before.

It blooms longer than another other viticella I have. The next best one
or equal to it is Etoile Violette.
