Is hibiscus moscheutos hardy where you are? I think mine said zone 5.
I've got a pink one in a similar situation with a large rosebush and was
very pleased at the long bloom time. It will kill to the ground but come
back. You'll need to be sure it gets adequate water.
A white butterfly bush might be nice too.
