One of the few magazines I will not pass up on the stands. The others (UK,
Canadian and US) are either aimed too low (and I do not consider myself a
particularly knowledgable gardener) or have so much more advertising than
text to be useful. I can't say as I have ever considered subscribing-for a
North American subscriber the savings off cover price don't seem that great.
One of the worst I know of is Gardening Life-a Canadian magazine that pushes
things like $500 Italian terra cotta pots in the garden-and not even plants
in them. Pictures of the gardens usually have things like set breakfast
tables filling most of the foreground-and no information on how they got the
rest of the garden to look the way it did.
At least that was the way it was the last time I looked at it several years
ago. I doubt it's changed at all.
