Recent post about the request for the refund for the shrubs that died after
being put in the ground in their pots reminded me of the poem in
Charlesworth's "A gardener obsessed". It lists a zillion reasons why the
plant died, starting with:
"You walked too close. You trod on it.
You dropped a piece of sod on it.
You hoed it down. You weeded it.
You planted it the wrong way up.
You grew it in a yogurt cup.."
This book and his earlier "The opinionated gardener" are among my favorite
gardening books - right there with Henry Mitchell, Allen Lacy and others
