Re: Hardiness of Begonia grandis 'Alba'?

Gene,

I have had the b. grandid 'alba' in a shaed area since 1997 and its survived dowb to minus 10. Its become somwhat of a nuisance back in the greenhouses where it has spread from a few pots. In order to propagate the bulbils early , they must be lit with a long day regime and get warm and moist. I have had no difficulty.

Have you tried any of the zone 6 and zone 5 species from China?
There are a few listed in Heronswood.
