I Hate Cold Weather

Paul,

I absolutely agree with you. Makes the bones ache. I pull the drapes
and make certain draft dodgers are in place. I think of it as being in
'bunker mode'. Makes the house dark and gloomy.
I detest cold weather ! But I don't like hot weather either!

When we moved here there was a 'Tropicana' on this property and it also
suffered from mildew. Loved the smell but dug it out.
Years later I was very surprised to find that very same fragrance in a
daffodil called 'Fragrant Rose'. A lovely white/pink flower and readily
available now. It was bred by Brian Duncan of N. Ireland. When I
mentioned the similarity in fragrance to him, he said I was correct
although the rose goes by a different name in Europe.
About 25% of the population can not smell the fragrance in 'Fragrant
Rose', mostly men!
