I have 3:
(1) Thalictrum rochebrunianum (Lavender mist) - I first saw it in the
perennial border in Thuya Gardens in Northeast Harbor (MDI) and got it at
the first opportunity. It grows about 4-5 feet tall, has beautiful leaves as
delicate as maidenhair fern and soft purple flowers. Self supporting but not
very sturdy - my dogs did a number on it last summer(:-( )
(2) Filipendula venusta (Queen of the Prairie). Also tall, much more robust,
spreads a little and I love its big panicles of pink flowers.
(3) Baptisia australis - beatiful bluish cast to the leaves, I love pea
like flowers and nothing ever bothers it The white Baptisia (alba) though
was very disappointing.
