Re: Weather

I agree with you. It would be nice to have some snow occasionally, if for no other reason "just to watch it fall" then, I would want it to go away. This has been a very odd winter for us. It was cold early, starting in Nov. and has gotten colder as time drags by. Most of the time we will have several days when it is very mild and I worry about my plants blooming early, which has happened before then it will get cold again and kill everything.
Right now I have noticed daffodils peeking out, they are about an inch out of the ground with a bud already. this is from several days of high 50 to low 60* weather we had about 2 or 3 weeks ago.
I also had some crocus bloom about that time.
I see in my garden, plants that usually are still green and alive at this time of year, looking sad
I have 2 plumbago's located on the South side of my house that usuallly stay green all year, but not this year.
It has been a very long winter here in NE Mississippi, and we've still got a ways to go yet.
I just sit and drool over the catalogs and wish for spring and try to keep warm.

Thankfully, it is warming up here (or I am getting used to it)...
current temp here at 7:50 1 F degree (wind chill -11).... expected high

digits... Glad my plants had some snow cover for this latest cold wave.

The snow cover is the magic of gardening isn't it. It's your blanket----wish we would have a little snow down here sometimes...it's been many, many years since we've seen snow. 9 years ago we had a hellish ice storm but no snow.
