Up here in Wisconsin, they look their best in June. After that, I find that I can be quite ruthless in trimming them back - more than simply deadheading. Has anyone seen them in colors other than blue? I know there is a Centaurea dealbata that is pinkish, but the time I tried it, it sprawled too much for me.
