Hi Nan,

   I'm not familiar with any, but I *really* want to do this at hort.net.
   The problem is that nobody's telling me what they want and very few
   people are willing to test things out, so I'm not sure what to do.

   I'd love to hear what features you're looking for in gardening software
   so that I know what direction to take with stuff!

Anybody consider using any of the Weblogging software? MovableType, Wordpress, etc. They're meant to be journals, most can be installed on a standalone computer. Ability to add comments, edit the entries, add photos. All entries dated and usually with some kind of search capability.
