Re: Acaena microphylla

Hi Linda,
Have looked this up and states is from the grasslands of NZ, one of
the smallest growing species. Forms a dense mat 25mm deep to 30cm
across. Stems run beneath the soil and root. The tiny leaflets are on 3mm
accross and bronzy when young. Pink-spined fruiting heads in Autumn.
Zones 7-10, thrive in exposed places and poor soil, excellent drainage
essential and summer moisture. Propaget from seed or by division.
Watch this as some species are regarded as weeds, proberly due to the
stems under the ground!!
Also sorry for the late reply but our e-mail has been out of action.
