Well we've done it again. We rescued six one gallon clerodendrum thomsoniae
from our local "grow em and throw em" nursery. These "glory bower" vines
are nearly bare, lacking many leaves, but the vines themselves are supple
and green. The temperatures have been in the low 40s at night, which must
have caused the leaf drop. My A-Z book says they don't like minimum temps
below 50-55 degrees F, however the cans themselves say hardy to 30 degrees
F.
I have brought them onto my porch to see if I they can be saved. Should I
bring them indoors, give them a dilute fertilizer feeding? Suggestions?
Probably these poor things were an unfortunate purchase and shouldn't have
even been sold in this zone.
