I agree once a small amount of time passes there should be no problems.

Copper is used on the inside of flower pots to help plant root growth- the
plants grow and come into contact with the copper and die-thus you get many
mnay smaller root sinstead of one or ywo big roots that twine around the
bootom of the pot.
