Bill Baker has a wonderful garden at Tidmarsh, near Reading in Berkshire
(UK!) It is open to the public occasionally and is well worth a detour to
see. It is full of fascinating unusual plants, many of which he has bred or
found in the wild and is one of the best English gardens I have seen.
There is a magical semi-wild area on the banks of the river with roses
clambering into enormous trees. There have been a number of articles in the
gardening press about Bill's garden and he has been on TV over here, but
he's not one of the most high profile garden owners because he's not trying
to encourage thousands of visitors to see his garden.

When I visited I bought Phlox "Bill Baker" from his plant stall. It is one
of his introductions from across the pond and is becoming more and more
popular in this country. It is a reliable, free flowering pink phlox about
12-15 in tall which makes a really good front of the border plant for late
spring/early summer. It is very easy, but not invasive, in our climate
anyway.
