Re: Signs of Spring


Here in Cincinnati (Zone 6a) the effects of the mild winter are alarming.
Leaf buds on roses are beginning to open.  The leaf buds on clematis 'Holy
Spirit' are already fully open.  The summer's snapdragons are still fully
alive in many spots.  Lisianthus is acting like a perennial with healthy
foliage at the base.  Other perennials have much more new growth at the base
than is ever seen here before April.  Buddleias look just the way they did at
the end of their blooming season--no dieback at all.  

I shudder to think what will happen when we actually get a blast of winter.
