Pottsey, I live in central IL. and we can buy mushroom compost here. Someone
explained it very well in an earlier post. And someone who lives by horses
said that the mushroom growers use horse manure to start out with. Mushroom
compost is the by product. I think they only use their growing medium like
twice before they are ready for new. Hope that cleared it up
Kris P who wishes someone would give her free mushroom compost so she
wouldn't have to pay for it
