This thread reminds me of the great deal that CostCo offered on daylilies
last year. As I recall, they sold bags -- 5 plants to a bag -- single and
double fans -- of several well known varieties (one was Gentle Shepherd), at
the tiny cost of $6 a bag. I found out about it because someone on the list
was kind enough to mention seeing them. My sense is that these large
companies get their stock at about the same time nationwide -- I'm not sure
they are savvy enough to stagger their garden supplies based on the local
climate.
SO -- if any of you go to CostCo and see the daylily deal again this year,
or see any other good deals at nationwide stores, I'd be delighted if you'd
let the rest of us know. I'm trying to garden on the cheap this year!
