I know some of you might feel annuals are fairly easy to propagate and have neglected to
germinate them recently. But I feel after you have to read our very own mailing list
member, Graham Rice new book Discovering Annuals, you will get back germinating
these traditional annual varieties.
Timber Press is offering this new book in April 1999. This will be a book I will be looking
forward to have on my garden bookshelf.

Discovering Annuals - Graham Rice
This is the fourth of Grahams Rice's books that Timber Press has published in the United
States; like the others, it is a lively presentation of inspirational planting ideas and solid
practical information.
After a period of comparative neglect by sophisticated gardeners, annuals are once again
being widely used for garden color. In this lavishly illustrated book, Rice presents his
choice of the best traditional varieties of annuals and introduces us to new varieties as well
as less-known plants. He suggests detailed color combinations and planting schemes that
prove annuals are the perfect complement to the old favorites of the garden.
Other books of interest are the "The Gardener's Guide to Growing Series". They now
have 13 books within this series. Two new ones.... Clematis & Penstemons
