Re: Applying alfalfa

I use horse cubes for alfalfa tea. 16 handfuls or so in a 45 gal drum.
use it and then refill. When empty again, spread sludge wherever.

When starting/digging over a bed I spread cubes fairly thickly and dig
in. When planting lilies I mix a couple of cubes with bone meal and
compost and soil at the bottom of the hole before planting the bulb.
When planting a lot of bulbs by trenching just walk along with with a
corner cut out so cubes drop in the trench, then toss in bonemeal &
compost. Mix up well with soil and plant the lily bulbs.

I use alfalfa for everything. only thing you have to be careful is to
check your TB iris after rain to make sure rhizomes are not covered.
