PeIn Victoria BC you meet all the gardeners on the beach at dawn, filling 
their trunks with kelp.  We just chopped it up and dug it under.  didn't 
bother to rinse.

Ginny in Prince George, zone 2, 10 hrs driving from the ocean -3 today, 
very strange weather for zone 2.
