Greetings from a most un-January-like day in SW Virginia
Has anyone used a Costar LabelWriter to generate labels for garden
use? This a PC compatible printer which uses a thermal printing
process to print on a variety of label bases. It sounds very
similiar in function to the Brother PTouch printers which will
produce labels on a clear base which I have hear holdup very
well in the garden, but they are stand-alone devices with a
keyboard about 10" wide and I don't really want to type 1200
labels this way if I can extract them from an Access database
instead.
I also need to know the maximum number of lines per vertical
inch of label and the maximum number of characters per inch
it will print. I've visited their web site, but was unable
to get answers to these and other questions. I have sent
a note to their sales email address asking for this information
and information about the UV and H2O resistance of the adhesive,
label substrate as well as the printing itself - that ought to
give some engineer something to do for a while :<)
Thanks
John
