Winter interest

Here in USDA zone 7b of central Arkansas, I have had my first Cyclamen coum
in bloom (thanks Gene) for about a week. I purchased them last fall. My
first daffodil opened today. The Lonicera fragrantissima (winter bush
honeysuckle) is in full bloom and the lemon fragrance is lovely 20 feet
away. I have scattered pink blooms amoung the green leaves on Phlox sublata
on a sunny southern slope. The small leaves of the Lemon thyme are still
lovely dark green cascading over the raised beds, with the variegated
yellow and green (and right now some pink) of Thyme "Doone Valley'
brightening up other spots. I could not resist petting them and smelling
the lemon from them too. Oh yes, and the Snowdrops are blooming.

Other than the above, it's a dull damp day in the 40's F...
