Hi,
Thought I might mention what I thought was a beautiful combo- with the
Lysimachia ciliata, the equally naughty Johnson's Blue Geranium. It was
beautiful, since the yellow blooms come after the blue flowers have are all
but completely gone. That vivid periwinkle blue next to the purple-bronze
foliage was a knockout. (This year the geranium turned into a holy mess, so
perhaps I need to rethink this plant!)
I have to say, the invasive quality of the LYS is getting on my nerves this
year, it's 3rd in my garden, and I wouldn't plant it in a deep, full bed, as
it winds its way through the other plants and would get completely entangled.
Mine is a good 4' high by now and 90% of it is still purple and it is in
full bloom. I bought it for it's pretty foliage: two 4" pots at my
neighborhood nursery UNMARKED . ( Risk is my middle name :D ) I have no idea
of the cultivar. I also have a Lysimachia that has variagated green and
cream foliage with yellow flowers (yuck, I agree with Dean) tucked in amongst
the leaves. Can't remember what it is. It seems to be staying in a little
clump. Are all the Lysimachias rampant?
