I also recently heard that Heronswood was purchased by a megacompany (the
kind that doesn't care whether it sells bullets or buddleias), but this
rumor had it that the new owner was Ball Seed. Don't know what the story is,
but it doesn't sound good either way.

Subject: News of a troubling nature
Just got word that Heronswood (of Washington state)has been purchased by
Burpees .I have no other info beyond that.Other than it is true and it
will continue to be run 'pretty much' the same way & with the same staff
So ,Gene and all other small nurseries I wish you every success,as it is
my preference to deal with the smaller, more personal nursery business'.
