Val and Bill --
My buddleias have also been blooming for several weeks now. One starts
blooming around Memorial Day -- I've already had to deadhead that one --
and the other starts blooming a week or so later.
Buddleias would work very well with the Asiatic lilies, especially if
grown "as perennials," that is, cut back every fall and not allowed to
become woody shrubs. Since they flower on new growth this won't affect
blooming and they'll stay more height compatible with the lilies. Since
Buddleias continue blooming through the fall, later blooming lilies, tall
asters, goldenrod, etc. could be added to the bed to continue the "look."
