Only a true addict would spend a better part of their budget on plants.
True addicts also dig up new garden beds in their ever decreasing yard just
to have a place to put new purchases.  And do you all read garden
journals/books like best-selling novels?   Try to convert other people to
your obsessions ("go with me to the garden center" or "I'll give you a
start of this plant")?  Your significant other ever try to bribe you using
gardening materials or the promise of doing gardening chores?  Ever find
yourself violently defending the time you spend in your garden?  Saying
things like "at least my vice doesn't hurt anyone"?

In view of the above, I don't find it at all unusual that Heronswood is as
successful as it is.
