Janis-
Tell me where you have your Helleborus orientalis sited. I bought a small
one this year and I'm thinking that I may have it in too much shade under
the east side of some dogwood shrubs. It hasn't died, but it hasn't grown
much either. I keep repeating the perennial lover's mantra: the first year
it sleeps, the second year it creeps, the year it leaps. I don't expect much
leaping, but I want to keep it happy.
