Have tried Ajuga with poor results. For lawn areas it needs more water
and doesn't tolerate as much foot traffic, or dog traffic, than does
ground ivy. In beds, I've had Ajuga overwhelm many less robust
perennials -- the leaves make too tight a barrier -- so now I only grow
it around the dwarf azaleas and evergreens.
