Re: ground ivy


Well, Dean, I was right here, fighting the never ending battle with
ground ivy two years ago...would have been more than happy to ship
you a wad big enough to choke an elephant.

No, did not go buy Queen Ann's lace.  But, got my mom to send me some
seeds:-)  Used to have it and ended up weeding it all out as it
wanted to be where I didn't want it to be.  Once it was gone,
realized I missed it.  Actually quite a pretty plant IMO.  Think,
however, I really have too much shade, except for one spot where I
scattered some of that seed.  We shall see.  It doesn't hold a candle
to ground ivy for persistence and spreading ability.

I, literally, roll back carpets of the stuff in a few places each
year.  Piles of it up to 3' tall.  It does make good compost if you
get it in the center of the pile so it cooks.
